Check out the rarest mobs in Minecraft and how you can find them!

Minecraft’s vast world holds endless mysteries and discoveries waiting to be unearthed. Throughout my Minecraft career, I have met countless mobs; from goofy and funny ones to irritating hostels that make your blood boil.

But only a handful of Minecraft players have seen the mobs we’re about to show you.

But what makes these mobs as rare as they are? Well, it’s not just about chance; unique spawning conditions and extremely low spawn rates also play a significant role. But, finding these rare mobs can be a challenging and thrilling experience that will test your skills (but mostly luck).

12 Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

12. Arctic Fox

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 5% chance

As you are along the snowy biome of the taiga, you may face these shy mobs that are indeed rare and difficult to notice and catch. The reason for this is their mastery of camouflage and fleeing even the slightest of noises. Breeding normal foxes won’t produce Arctic Fox offspring, but both types of foxes share similar behaviors and mechanics. Interestingly, Arctic Foxes can play a vital role in self-sustaining berry farms in the game, as they are quite useful for harvesting berries.

11. Invisible Spider

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 2% chance

To encounter Invisible Spider is a rare occurrence, with only a chance of approximately 2% of spawning. These elusive mobs appear as a result of special potion effects, which make them incredibly challenging to spot. Spending more time in a particular chunk can increase the probability of encountering them, but beware, as their invisibility adds an extra layer of challenge and fear, making them one of the most intimidating spiders in the game.

10. Rainbow Sheep

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1.7% chance

Rainbow Sheep is a rare mob in Minecraft, with only a 1.7% chance of spawning. These colorful creatures were exclusive to Minecraft Earth. To find them, players had to engage in battles and hope for it to be on their side. The rarity of Rainbow Sheep adds to their appeal, making them a valuable discovery for those fortunate enough to come across one.

9. Melon Golem

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1.1% chance

In Minecraft Earth, you can come across a special variant of the snow golem called Melon Golem. These creatures are quite rare, with only a 1.1% chance of spawning. To create one, stack two snowblocks and place a carved melon on top. Unlike snow golems, melon golems are resistant to melting in warmer biomes. In addition, instead of throwing snowballs, they launch melon seeds.

8. Green Frog

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: around 0.1% to 0.5% chance

The Cold/Green Frog is a rare creature that has a low chance of appearing naturally. However, it can be located by bringing any colored frog to one of the coldest biomes and letting it undergo a tadpole transformation process. These Green Frogs are unique and can’t be found anywhere else. Players who manage to obtain them can use them to craft a Green Frog Light, which is perfect for building earth-themed structures. Due to its rarity, new players may not even know it exists.

7. Blue Axolotl

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 0.08% chance

The lush caves’ biomes offer a chance to spot the rarest mob in the game- an elusive mob that can spawn naturally in four different colors. However, the blue variant can only be obtained through breeding, which requires dedication and patience, with a 0.08% chance of mutation. But if you want to speed up the process, you can use creative mode. Although the blue axolotl doesn’t have any enhanced stats, discovering it remains a prized achievement.

6. Baby Pink Sheep

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 0.008% chance

The chances of spotting a pink sheep are 0.16%, which makes it a special find in the game. Interestingly, the baby pink sheep is even rarer, with a chance of only 0.008%, making it 20x unique than its adult counterpart. If you’re a keen sheep hunter, this tiny pink bundle is the ultimate prize. Keep in mind that exploration is essential to spot these mobs,, except in snowy tundras and wooded badlands plateaus where they don’t spawn.

5. Naturally Charged Creeper

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1/125600000

To witness such a rare mob, you must be a thunderstruck, and lightning must directly hit the one in the block where a creeper stands. However, the chances of this happening are incredibly low, about 0.004%, making it a rare occurrence in the game. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning in real life than to encounter this rarest mob. Beyond that, the Naturally Charged Creeper stands out because it is tremendously strong and terrifying, taking away the spotlight from other mobs.

4. Infinite Tower of Striders

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1/1000000000

There’s a rare feature where a Strider can ride on top of another, creating a double Strider. This means that any Strider has a chance of creating a tower of Striders, which can potentially go on infinitely. However, it’s incredibly rare, with a 10% chance of finding two stacked, a 1% chance of finding three, a 0.1% chance of finding four, and one in a billion of finding infinity. The chances of that happening are almost impossible. Still, if you’re up for the challenge, go ahead and explore the Nether biome where Striders naturally spawn, and who knows, you might just spot this rare sight.

3.  Baby Zombies riding Brown Pandas

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1/350000000000

The baby zombies have a minor probability of hitching a ride with the brown panda, which is a rare mount. The chance to spot these two mobs together is about one in 3. 5 trillion. Imagine a baby zombi, wearing full enchanted diamond armor, atop a brown panda that became the rarest mob in Bedrock Edition. Spotting a brown panda itself is also quite uncommon, with only about a 1 in 600 chance in a jungle biome.

2. Enderman-Built Snow Golem

Rarest Mobs in Minecraft

Rarity: 1/500000000000

The Snow Golem, is a mob in Minecraft that cannot spawn itself. The players are mainly those who create them, but there is a small chance that an Enderman may happen to build one.  If an Enderman happens to pick up a carved pumpkin and place it on two snowblocks. Still, it is almost impossible for this mob to occur with odds of one in five trillion.

1. A Left-Handed Zombie Villager wearing full Enchanted diamond armor including an Enchanted iron wearing a Pumpkin.

Rarity: 1/660000000000000000000000

You probably have never seen this in a Minecraft game before. A Zombie villager clothed in the full enchanted diamond armor.  Holding a very powerful enchanted iron sword in its left hand and wearing a festive pumpkin headpiece that glows with an ominous light, a true Halloween goodie. You can only find this rarest mob in the abandoned villages.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, with odds so rare that it’s almost impossible to come across, making it the rarest find in all of Minecraft.
