How to Make a Brewing Stand?

How to Make Potions in Minecraft

It is impossible to know how to make potions in Minecraft, without knowing how to make a Brewing Stand first. To create one, a Blaze Rod is required, along with any three stone blocks. Here’s how to do it:

1. Collect Materials– Gather three stone blocks and one Blaze Rod. Blaze Rods are dropped by Blazes, which can be found in Nether Fortresses.

2. Use a Crafting Table– Open your crafting table. Place the three stone blocks along the bottom or middle row of the 3×3 grid.

3. Add the Blaze Rod– Place the Blaze Rod in the center slot above the stone blocks.

Now you have a Brewing Stand ready to go! You can start brewing by adding Blaze Powder to the fuel slot. Place the potions you want to modify in the bottom three slots. Then, add an ingredient in the top slot to change the potions’ effects.

How do I Make Potions in Minecraft?

On my way to learn how to make Potions in Minecraft, it seems complex at first, but the time I grasp the process and gather enough ingredients, it becomes second nature. First things first, to make potions in Minecraft, you need to start by gathering these essentials:

1. Brewing Stand– The main tool for potion-making.

2. Blaze Powder– Acts as fuel for your Brewing Stand.

3. Glass Bottles– To hold your potions.

4. Water Source – A cauldron or water block will do.

Here’s the Step-by-Step guide in making potions in Minecraft;

Step 1: Fill Your Glass Bottles with Water

Right-click a water source with a glass bottle to fill it. You now have a Water Bottle.

Step 2: Create an Awkward Potion

Place the Water Bottle in the Brewing Stand and add the Nether Wart. This gives you an Awkward Potion, the base for all other potions.

Step 3: Add Effects

Add different ingredients to your Awkward Potion to create potions with various effects. See the section below for the recipes of all potions in Minecraft.

For example:

• Sugar– makes a Speed Potion.

• Rabbit’s Foot– makes a Leaping Potion.

• Glistering Melon– makes a Healing Potion.

Step 4: Modify Your Potions (Optional)

You can further enhance your potions with additional ingredients:

• Redstone– Extends the duration of the potion.

• Glowstone Dust– Increases the potency of the potion.

• Gunpowder– Turns your potion into a splash potion, which can be thrown.

• Dragon’s Breath– Makes your potion linger on the ground, affecting any mob that walks through it.

Types of Potions in Minecraft and Their Uses

Awkward Potion

As I have said, we can’t make other potions without Awkward Potion ready to go. To make one, you need a Water Bottle, Nether Wart, and Blaze Powder for fuel. First, add Blaze Powder to the brewing stand to charge it. Next, place the Water Bottle and Nether Wart in the stand. After brewing, you’ll get an Awkward Potion

Swiftness Potion

To brew Potions of Swiftness start with an Awkward Potion then add sugar through a Brewing Stand. This potion increases your speed by 20 %, which makes it ideal for exploration or fighting. You’ll need a sugar that is easily obtained from sugarcane. It’s a light blue potion, simple to make yet highly effective in various situations.

Splash Potion

Once brewed a Splash Potion in Minecraft, you’ll have a throwable potion that affects mobs or players upon impact. Simply toss it to apply the potion’s effect in an area. To create one, place a Water Bottle and Gunpowder into a brewing stand.

Lingering Potion

The first step in making Lingering Potion in Minecraft is brewing a Splash Potion by adding Dragon’s Breath into the Water Bottle which is placed above fire in the brewing stand. Then, combine this with Gunpowder to create a Lingering Potion. When thrown, it creates a cloud that lingers in the area, affecting any players or mobs that pass through it.

Invisibility Potion

To make Invisibility Potion one must mix fermented Spider Eye with a Potion of Night Vision in the brewing stand. It enables you to become invisible to the rest of the world, making it easy to slide past foes or prank your buddies.

Slowness Potion

Begin with either a Potion of Weakness or a Potion of Swiftness when making a Potion of Slowness. A fermented spider eye should be added to the brewing stand to obtain a Potion of Slowness that slows down movement by 15% for 1 minute and 30 seconds when consumed; thereby becoming useful when controlling situations.

Weakness Potion

To make Weakness Potion, you have to mix a water bottle with a fermented spider eye in the brewing stand. This potion lowers the harm you can inflict on others and can be employed in tasks such as calming angry mobs or getting the villagers in position for curing.

Strength Potion

For a Potion of Strength, begin with an awkward potion and add Blaze Powder. This potion enhances your attack damage by three points, useful for defeating tough enemies. It’s straightforward to make and has a distinctive yellow color.

Healing Potion

To create a Potion of Healing, combine an awkward potion with a glistering melon slice in a brewing stand. This potion restores health quickly in battles, indicated by its bright red color. It’s a valuable asset when you need to recover health swiftly during intense combat.

Leaping Potion

Leaping potion is great for exploring mountainous terrain or navigating caves quickly. To make one, start with an Awkward Potion and add a Rabbit’s Foot. This potion grants a jump boost for three minutes.

Slow Falling Potion

To create a Potion of Slow Falling, use Phantom Membrane obtained from Phantoms by killing them. Mix the membrane with an awkward potion in a brewing stand. This potion slows your fall speed, preventing fall damage, making it essential for Elytra flight or exploring heights in the End.

Potion of Poison

Mix an Awkward Potion with a spider eye in a brewing stand in order to make Potion of Poison. Drinking this potion will poison you for 45 seconds. For safer use, transform it into a Splash Potion of Poison to throw at enemies, causing them to be poisoned instead.

Potion of Harming

Take any existing Poison Potion or any Healing Potions before mixing them with fermented spider eye to create a Potion of Harming. This potion inflicts instant damage of six hearts, making it effective against enemies or in multiplayer games for surprises.

Potion of Regeneration

Mix an Awkward Potion and Ghast Tear to create Regeneration potions. When used, it not only heals you but also gives you continuous health regeneration. It’s a powerful potion to have in tough battles, although obtaining a Ghast Tear can be challenging due to its source from Ghasts.

Potion of Fire Resistance

To craft a Potion of Fire Resistance, mix an Awkward Potion with Magma Cream using the Brewing Stand. It lets you walk through lava and fire – crucial when you want to grab Nether and Netherite that are in it without catching a Blaze.

Potion of Night Vision

First, in order to brew Potion of Night Vision one has to make a golden carrot with the help of a golden ingot and carrot. After that, combine the golden carrot with an awkward potion in a brewing stand. This potion helps you to see at night and in water, for any adventures that involve such conditions as night time, underwater, or even caves without a source of light such as a torch.

Potion of Water Breathing

A Potion of Water Breathing can be brewed using a Puffer fish and an Awkward Potion placed in a Brewing Stand. This potion lets you swim; this is very useful in terms of enabling you to explore ocean monuments and such structures, therefore, increasing your versatility.

Potion of Turtle Master

For a Potion of the Turtle Master, start with a turtle shell, crafted from scutes dropped by baby turtles when they grow up. Combine the turtle shell with an awkward potion in a brewing stand to get this potion. It grants Slowness IV and Resistance III, useful for tough battles or situations where durability is key.
